HVCTS

The High Volume Customer Take-On Scheme (HVCTS) is a data-sharing initiative operated by HMRC that enables businesses onboarding large numbers of customers to verify identities and assess money laundering risk by cross-referencing details against government-held records. Estate and letting agents handling bulk tenancy agreements or property transactions may use the scheme to fulfil anti-money laundering obligations under the Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing and Transfer of Funds Regulations 2017. Updates and guidance are published by HMRC and referenced in legislation on legislation.gov.uk. Watchdog HQ monitors changes to HVCTS weekly.
