TDP

The Tenant Deposit Protection (TDP) scheme is a legal requirement in England that mandates landlords and letting agents to safeguard tenancy deposits in a government-approved scheme within 30 days of receipt and provide prescribed information to tenants. The framework is governed by the Housing Act 2004 and subsequent regulations available on legislation.gov.uk, with guidance issued by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG). Updates and interpretations may also be published by Propertymark and the Property Ombudsman in relation to compliance standards and dispute resolution. Watchdog HQ monitors changes to TDP weekly.
