TFA

The Tenant Fees Act 2019 (TFA) limits the fees and deposits that letting agents and landlords in England can charge to tenants in the private rented sector. It restricts permitted payments to rent, security deposits capped at five weeks' rent for most tenancies, and certain other specified charges. Updates and guidance are published by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) and legislation.gov.uk. Watchdog HQ monitors changes to TFA weekly.
